| In the period before Christmas, the 1,000-year-old UNESCO World Heritage City turns into a fairytale. Angels glide through the festively lit streets and alleys with the ancient cobblestones and the Christmas market is held in front of the town hall.
During the event 'Advent in den Höfen' you can discover what special hidden behind walls: on the three weekends before Christmas, the historic courtyards open their gates and present valuables and curiosities. Advent is celebrated in Quedlinburg. Festive music sounds from the churches and organ sounds come out. The "Quedlinburger Advent Calendar" is also something unique: in Advent every day a door of a half-timbered house on the Schlossberg is opened to the sounds of Christmas music. 'Winterzauber', a lovingly collected collection of historic doll kitchens and grocers in the shop windows in the city center. Children roam through the fairytale forest.
