The Wilhelmina Park is the oldest park in Meppel and is located near the station. It was designed in 1914 by the well-known garden and landscape architect Leonard Springer, after a committee of Meppeler notables had made clear to the city council the desirability of a city walking park on the banks of the river Reest.
