Whether you are young or old, there is plenty to do for everyone.
In addition to the water sports activities, you can also relax by taking a dip, relaxing or having something to eat and drink on the sun terrace. Everyone is welcome at Waterskibaan De IJzeren Man.
An absolute highlight at De IJzeren Man water ski slope in Weert is the annual Wakeboard Festival, an event that attracts water sports enthusiasts from all over the country. During this spectacular weekend, both professional wakeboarders and amateurs come together to show their skills and compete for the title of best wakeboarder.
The Wakeboard Festival is not only a competition, but also a celebration for the whole family. In addition to the exciting wakeboard competitions, numerous activities have been organized, such as live music, food trucks, workshops and demonstrations. The event offers a unique opportunity to get acquainted with wakeboarding, make new friends and enjoy a fun day at the water.
During the festival, the participants get the chance to show their wakeboarding skills at the challenging fun park of De IJzeren Man. With various obstacles and ramps, both beginners and experts can test their skills and push their limits. The event not only attracts local wakeboarders, but also international professionals who perform spectacular stunts and amaze the audience with their breathtaking jumps and tricks.
At cableskibaan you can enjoy a course of about 800 meters long, with 10 hook-up points (also called 'carriers'). The course contains several challenging obstacles where you can make spectacular jumps. Our instructors are happy to give you tips to help you make these jumps. A tough jump start from the dock is easier than you think. A water figure (invert) requires more training, but with the right guidance and motivation you can make rapid progress.
In addition to cable water skiing and wakeboarding, Cablepark Aquabest also offers other activities. For example, you can practice stand-up paddling (SUP) or play a game of beach volleyball on the nearby beach. This makes the park an excellent location for a day out with the whole family or friends.
Per hour 40 people can use the track, where you go around at a speed of about 30 km/h. The track has a circumference of 783 meters with five easy turns. The cable hangs at a height of 16 meters, making it the second highest cable in Europe. The cable is therefore suitable for both beginners and professional athletes.
Water skiing and wakeboarding as an outing with your football team, school class or company is highly recommended and something different. We use special times and rates for groups. It is best to contact us for this. You have also come to the right place for a cup of coffee or tea and a snack and drink afterwards. We like to think along to make it a beautiful day.
Since 1998, this cable ski slope has been the place where many water sports enthusiasts enjoy themselves in the summer. Because we use a cable ski slope, both beginners and advanced water skiers have come to the right place.
The innovative new obstacle, the 'pool gap', is distinguished by its unique design and functionality. Visitors first slide from the water over a ramp, after which they end up in a spacious water basin. From this box they can then jump to different types of rails. The modular frame also offers the possibility to add extensions at any time, so that the obstacle can be adjusted annually to be more challenging or simpler.
Six dedicated volunteers created the 'pool gap', making the obstacle truly unique. They have worked together every Saturday for two years to realize this impressive obstacle. Special thanks go to JD Staal for supplying the required steel and making their business premises and heavy machinery available.
The result of all these efforts is an imposing obstacle with a length of 31 meters, a width of 4.60 meters and a height of 1.20 meters. Including water, the whole weighs no less than 28,000 kilograms. To keep the 'pool gap' firmly in place, it is anchored with 40 anchors of 150 kilograms each.
