Torre des Verger, also known as Torre de ses Animes, is a historic tower located in the northeast of Mallorca, Spain. The tower was built in the 15th century as part of a defense system to protect the coast from pirate attacks. It is one of the best preserved 15th century towers in the region and is now a historical monument. The tower is not open to the public, but it is a wonderful example of medieval military architecture and can be viewed from the surrounding area. It offers a beautiful view of the surrounding area, the sea and the beach. The name Torre des Verger comes from the surrounding gardens and the Torre de ses Animes (Tower of the Ghosts) comes from a legend that the tower was inhabited by ghosts. |
