The Four Days of Cycling will take place from 18 May (Ascension Day) to Sunday 21 May. This year, the long-distance riders will visit the Amerongse Bos for the first time in years. The Lingeroute on Friday remains unchanged, because it is simply too good to change! On May 13, we had already registered almost 500 participants, much more than last year during the pre-registration! The official pre-registration period is now closed. You can still register online, but you can only pay the participation fee at the start on May 18 (€12 per person, with a discount for NTFU members). Children up to and including 12 years old can cycle for free, provided they are accompanied by an adult. Routes< /div> Thursday 18 May 2023 (1st day)Midden Betuweroute'On the first day, all participants will arrive in Echteld and most will also visit Lienden. The long-distance riders are guided past Ochten and Opheusden, and those who cycle the 80 km distance even reach the beautiful village of Hemmen. On your return to Kerk-Avezaath you will pass the annual Creative Market and exhibition in the atmospheric Lambertus Church. Friday 19 May 2023 (2nd day)Lingeroute On the second day follows you will find one of the most beautiful cycling routes in the Netherlands and you will pass through Geldermalsen, Deil, Rumpt, Beesd, Landgoed Mari'nwaerdt and Tricht. The longer routes also pass Asperen, Heukelum, Leerdam and Acquoy. Finally, you will reach Buren, the Oranjestadje with its many monuments, the city canal, the Prince of Orange windmill and various museums. Saturday 20 May 2023 (3rd day)Tielerwaard route On the third day we will guide you along the villages of Wadenoijen, Est, Neerijnen and Waardenburg. The long-distance routes take you through the area around Haaften and Herwijnen. Due to work on the Waaldijk, we may not be able to cycle there, but that is not a problem, as there are many alternative cycling routes in the area. Sunday, May 21, 2023 (4th day)Lekroute'On the last day, all participants will arrive in Wijk bij Duurstede and most will also visit Amerongen. Wijk bij Duurstede is a beautiful town to cycle around and explore. The long-distance cyclists are guided through the Amerongse Bos to near Veenendaal, past Maarsbergen, Maarn and Langbroek. Not only the Betuwe, but also the Utrechtse Heuvelrug is a wonderful area to explore by bicycle. |
