Burgruine Winneburg is a medieval castle ruin located on a hilltop, about 4 km north of Cochem, in the German region of Moselle. The castle was built in the 13th century and served as a strategic defense post in the region. Today, Burgruine Winneburg is a popular tourist attraction due to its picturesque location and impressive architecture. The ruins of the castle can still be seen, including the remains of the defensive walls, tower and chapel. From the top of the hill you also have a beautiful view over the Moselle valley and the surrounding vineyards. The castle ruins are freely accessible to visitors and information boards have been placed to explain the history of the castle.
