A visit to any brewery usually starts with a guide or brewer by your side. He welcomes you to the imposing brewery, after which you go on a journey of discovery through the brewery. You will discover the brewing room, fermentation room and the bottling plant. Often a lot is also told about the (brewing) history of the brewery. The Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan in Freising is the cradle of Bavarian brewing culture. In addition to being one of the most beautiful breweries, it is also one of the oldest: as early as 1040, the Benedictine monks of the Weihenstephan monastery were given the right to brew beer. This makes it the oldest beer brewery in the world.
