The 26th Achterhoek Cycling Weekend will take place from 18 to 21 May in Varsseveld, organized by the VVV working group Cycling Committee Varsseveld. For four days you can enjoy cycling in the beautiful Achterhoek scenic landscape, with well-signposted routes and clear route descriptions. The routes are plotted on roads and paths that are easy to drive on, and the checkpoints are located in hospitable catering establishments. Every day the route goes in a different direction.

Routes 2023
Thursday 18 May (Ascension Day ): The route goes in the direction of Heelweg-East, along the trout ponds, to Zieuwent and via church paths to the resting point De Duif near Ruurlo. The route then continues on beautiful cycle paths along De Slinge, towards the hamlet of Diekhoek and Museum Lebbenbrugge. The last 20 km go via church paths at Zieuwent and Mariënvelde, Heelweg-West, back to the finish at Enzovoort.

Friday 19 May: The route goes along the Boven-Slinge, through the village of Lintelo. At farm De Westendorp you can see beautifully painted silos. The checkpoint is located in De Heurne at café Bruggink. The longer distances go via Suderwick, the Aa-strang and Anholt, and then return to Varsseveld via Landwinkel Smits, kerkpaden and the Idinkbos.
Saturday 20 May: The route goes in a northerly direction along the Slingebeek, via Halle Nijman, Wolfersveen and 't Hengelse Zand to eateryé Jansen and Jansen in Hengelo, our control point. The loop goes through the hamlets of Delden and Linde and the village of Vorden with its many castles. The way back takes you through the outskirts of Hengelo and Zelhem, via IJzevoorde and the Slangenburg with its beautiful castle, back to the finish.
Sunday 21 May: The route goes via the Vennebulten to the checkpoint De Domme Anleg in Barlo. Along the way you will pass places of interest such as museum farm Het Hofshuus, old tram rails on the Schippersbrug, inn De Radstake and the
