The Rensenpark is a green city park located in the center of Emmen. The park was created on the former site of Emmen Zoo and is named after its former director, Aleid Rensen. The park offers various activities and attractions for young and old. There is a skating rink, a playground and a petting zoo. There are also various sports fields and facilities. The park is also a popular location for events and festivals. In the summer months, for example, music festivals and open-air concerts are regularly organized. A special attraction in the park is the old zoo. Although the zoo is no longer in use, there are still several old buildings and animal enclosures to admire. For example, there is an old monkey rock and an enclosure for bears. |
