Sa Capelleta Santa Maria de l'Olivar is a hidden church located on the road between Soller and Fornalutx, three kilometers from Sóller. The shrine has a fairytale architecture and is unique. It is a popular route - you will find signposts to and from Soller for walkers. Sa Capelleta Santa Maria de l'Olivar was built in 1943 and 1944. The complex also includes the pilgrimage chapel "Sa Capelleta", which has the architectural style of Antoni Gaudí. The Sa Capelleta is supported by four pillars of stones. The interior is cave style with stalactite formations. In the chapel are statues of the Virgin Mary and Saint Bernadette. Sa Capelleta Santa Maria de l'Olivar was a favorite venue for the weddings of the locals and was attended to by the priests. This was the place where the priest used to live. |
