| The botanical greenhouse complex of Hortus Overzee is a 5-minute walk from the center of Den Helder. Walk through a color explosion of native and exotic plants. There is also a relaxing Japanese garden with running water, natural stone bridges, koi carp and turtles. In the greenhouse you can admire red volcanic rock, cacti and succulents from the Old World (Africa) and New World (North, Central and South America), such as aloes, agaves and euphorbias.
